Usg 382198 Sheetrock Paper Joint Tape, 2-1/16 In. X 500 Ft.

USG Sheetrock brand paper joint tape is a specialized fiber tape designed for reinforcing joints and corners in gypsum drywall interiors. This 500-foot roll provides the tape needed for continuous drywall finishing work without interruption, making it essential for both professional contractors and DIY home repair projects. The tape works in conjunction with joint compounds to create strong, seamless drywall seams that resist cracking and other defects.

Paper joint tape is also recommended for joint treatment in veneer finish systems subject to rapid drying conditions and where framing exceeds 16-inch spacing. Its high tensile strength and resistance to stretching and wrinkling ensure professional results in demanding finishing applications.

Features and Benefits

• Cross-Fibered Construction: Manufactured from special cross-fibered tape with high tensile strength both with and across the paper grain, resisting cracking and stretching for a durable, crack-free finish.
• Superior Bond Strength: High porosity produces exceptional bond with joint compounds while eliminating the need for perforations, and provides exceptional wet strength for reliable performance.
• Lightly Sanded Surface: The tape is lightly sanded for increased adhesion and easier compound application, promoting strong seams that stand up to wear.
• Easy Application: Positive center creasing and uniform winding promote accurate, trouble-free application to both angles and flat joints, while the tape lies flat and resists tearing under tools.
• Flatness and Wrinkle Resistance: Resists wrinkling, stretching, and other distortions, ensuring minimal defects during installation.
